  12. Prepare 2 tbsp water
  13. Take 2 tbsp cornstarch

Cover the patties with the onion gravy. Add the flour, stir to combine with the onions, and slowly add the water while whisking so that no lumps linger. Add the salt, pepper, parsley flakes, cumin, cayenne pepper (if using), and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon the gravy over the meat with the onions.

Steps to cook Salisbury steak and onion gravy:
  1. Chop onion, add oil to pan over medium heat and cook until softened and caramelized, about ten minutes or so. Put the onions in a bowl, set aside.
  2. Mix ground beef, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce and egg. Shape into ovals.
  3. Cook patties over medium heat, about 5 minutes each side. Drain. Set aside.
  4. Add onions and broth, bring to a simmer. Mix water and cornstarch, stir into onion mixture. Add Worcestershire sauce. Simmer until thickened.
