Ingredients and seasonings used for make
  1. Use 1 Cauliflower (small sized)
  2. Prepare 1 Egg
  3. Prepare 1 tbsp Corn flour
  4. Use 1 tbsp All purpose flour
  5. Prepare 2 tbsps Soya sauce
  6. Prepare 4 tbsps Tomato sauce
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
  8. Take 2 tsps Red chilli powder
  9. Take 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  10. Prepare 2 Onion (finely chopped)
  11. Use 1/2 Capsicum (chopped)
  12. Use 6 cloves Garlic (chopped)
  13. Take 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  14. Prepare 2 Green chilli (chopped)
  15. Take Oil – for deep frying the florets
  16. Take Salt – as needed
  17. Prepare 2 cups Water
  18. Prepare 2 tbsps Coriander leaves (chopped)
  19. Take 2 tbsps Spring onions (chopped)

In the meanwhile, dissolve the cornflour and all purpose flour along with pepper and salt in water. It features battered and deep-fried cauliflower ( gobi) tossed in a flavorful sauce made with soy sauce, chili sauce, and a generous amount of aromatics (garlic, ginger, chili peppers, scallions, etc.). Step by step to cook Gobi Manchurian:
  1. Mix little salt to water and boil. Blanch the cauliflower florets in this boiling water for 4 minutes. Drain and keep it aside.
  2. In a bowl, mix corn flour, all purpose flour, pepper powder, red chilli powder, and salt.
  3. Now add ginger garlic paste, 1 tbsp soya sauce, 2 tbsp tomato sauce and egg to the above mixture and mix well to form a smooth paste, without any lumps. Egg may be omitted as we are adding corn flour/ all purpose flour as binding agent.
  4. Marinate the cauliflower florets in this mixture for atleast 1 hour.
  5. Then heat oil in a kadai and deep fry the marinated cauliflower. Allow to drain excess oil and keep them aside.
  6. Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan and saute the onions for a minute.
  7. Add in the chopped garlic and green chillis.
  8. Next add the capsicum. And saute.
  9. Next add the fried cauliflower and mix well.
  10. Pour in 2 tbsp tomato sauce and 1 tbsp soya sauce and mix well.
  11. Add in the chopped coriander leaves and spring onions. Mix and turn the flame off.
  12. Garnish with some chopped coriander leaves and spring onions.
  13. Done and ready to serve!
